Grutzner is set to join Edgewood College in 2015 and will apply years of coaching experience across many different levels. She grew up in the Madison area and attended the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. At UW-GB, Grutzner was a four-year starter and served as team captain during her junior and senior seasons. She also earned second team All-Conference and second team All-Tournament as a senior. Grutzner also played for the Madison Freeze for two seasons after graduating college.
Grutzner's coaching credentials include stints at Green Bay Notre Dame High School, Lawrence University, the Madison 56ers, Wayzata Soccer Club, Middleton High School, Madison West High School, the Minnesota Olympic Development Program and the Wisconsin Olympic Development Program.Â
Grutzner is coming off her 10th season as the head girl's soccer coach at Oregon High School. The team captured its first ever state championship in 2014 and ended the season with a record of 23-0-1. She earned the Wisconsin State Journal/Madison.com All-Area Coach of the Year, the WSCA Large School Coach of the Year and the NSCAA Wisconsin Large School Coach of the Year following last season.
Outside of soccer, Grutzner lives in Oregon, Wis., with her husband Jon, daughter Madeline and their dog. She is starting her 8th year as a fourth grade teacher at St. Ann School in Stoughton, Wis.
