Anja Von Klopp

After a strong playing career with the Eagles, Anja Von Klopp joins the Edgewood College Women's Soccer coaching staff for the 2021 season. She will act as a Graduate Assistant Coach while pursuing her Master's of Science Degree in Organizational Leadership and Change.

Von Klopp is originally from the Madison area and grew up playing soccer for clubs such as MYSC, Madison FC, ODP (Olympic Development Program) and Rush Wisconsin where she was nominated and played with Wisconsin Fire, a team that is selected of players across Wisconsin. She made the varsity soccer team at Sun Prairie High School all four years and graduated in 2017.

After a season at Viterbo, she transferred to Edgewood College to pursue her undergrad in business and to continue to play soccer her sophomore year of college. Von Klopp was named captain of the Edgewood College Women’s Soccer team her senior year.

She graduated as a student-athlete at Edgewood College in May of 2021. Recently, she just began her career as a College Career Specialist at Northwestern Mutual. Throughout the next two years, not only will she be working with the Edgewood College Women’s Soccer Team, she will also be pursuing her Masters of Science in Organizational Leadership and Change and coaching U12 girls for local soccer club, Madison 56ers.

Growing up, Von Klopp followed her father, who is also a coach, to various soccer conventions and camps. She has personally spent time working at soccer camps such as Soaring Soccer Academy and McFarland Club Soccer Camps. In 2019, she coached U12 girls at McFarland Soccer Club. Anja currently holds the Y1 License (WYSA/USSF), Level 1 license (NSCAA or United Soccer Coaches Association), USC 4v4 Diploma, Grassroots 7v7 and 9v9 certification.  She is looking to pursue her D license in the near future. Overall, Von Klopp has a strong passion for leadership and inspiring others. Anja has always wanted to work with young females as she hopes to be a mentor to them while helping them advance their soccer skills.

Her passion is held closely to soccer but, outside of soccer, she can be found visiting different restaurants in the Madison area. She also enjoys spending time at the gym, on the water at Lake Wisconsin and spending time with family and friends.
