Sabrina Boehlke was named the first-ever head coach for Eagles Women's Lacrosse on September 4, 2019.

In her first season at the helm, Boehlke led the Eagles to their first win in program history against Marian University (April 13). The Eagles posted a 1-9 record and saw three players earn All-NACC recognition. Kendra Sanderfoot and Natalie Skaife were named Second Team All-NACC, while Samantha Velander earned Honorable Mention All-NACC honors.

“Sabrina will do an excellent job as our first women’s lacrosse coach,” said Director of Athletics, Al Brisack. “Her name was the one that kept coming up in conversations with those in the lacrosse community, who were familiar with our institution and Department culture.  Through the interview process, it became clear that Sabrina’s vision and goals for the Edgewood College Women’s Lacrosse Program, aligned perfectly with ours.  She knows the game, is passionate about it and, most importantly, is passionate about using the game to develop outstanding female leaders.”

Boehlke brings a strong lacrosse background to the Eagles, which includes serving as the head coach at Divine Savior Holy Angels High School in Milwaukee since 2016. Boehlke was also tasked with starting that program up and has led them to a 30-14 overall record, including going undefeated during the program’s first year.

“I am honored and excited to be the first women’s lacrosse coach at Edgewood College,” said Boehlke. “Lacrosse advocates like myself have been fighting to expand this game, so it’s incredible to be a part of history and build a successful lacrosse program. I am excited for the future of lacrosse and especially the future of Edgewood College.”

Boehlke’s passion for the game of lacrosse began in college where she was a four-year player for fellow NACC member, Concordia University Wisconsin. During her playing days, the Falcons captured two conference championships and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. Boehlke was a Second Team All-Conference player and was named a team captain for her senior season.

Boehlke also served as an assistant coach for the Concordia University Wisconsin Women’s Lacrosse team during the 2018 season. The Falcons posted a 10-7 overall record, including going 9-2 in conference play.

Boehlke’s lacrosse experience has also allowed her to travel. In 2015, she was selected to compete in Australia through USA Athletic International in the 2015 Down Under Lacrosse Cup Tournament.

Boehlke also has an extensive background as a photographer and videographer. Since 2014, she has run her own company, Sabrina Lea Photography.

The Eagles Women’s Lacrosse program will begin competition in the spring of 2021. Boehlke will begin her role immediately as she recruits for the first-ever team at Edgewood College.
