Margot Affourtit is entering her first year at Edgewood College for the 2015-16 season. Affourtit has been coaching since her senior year in college in 2012, when she was the Southern Illinois Edwardsville University club basketball coach. She played collegiately for three years before winning a national championship in 2012 with the SIUE club team. In 2013, Affourtit coached the team to a national semifinal appearance.

Affourtit graduated with a bachelor's degree in geography and then went on to become an assistant coach at Webster University in St. Louis, Mo., for one year. She then moved on to become the head junior varsity coach at Holy Trinity High School in downtown Chicago, Ill.

Affourtit grew up in Lake Forest, Ill., and recently moved from Chicago, Ill., to Madison, Wis. She will be working toward a Master's in Educational Leadership while at Edgewood College.
