Katie Klemke begins her second season with Edgewood College after joining the women's basketball coaching staff in the fall of 2010. Klemke comes to the Eagles after graduating from Carthage College in May 2010 where she was awarded a Bachelor of Arts in Exercise and Sports Science with a Business minor. She was the assistant junior varsity basketball coach at Tremper High School in Kenosha, Wis. While Klemke was at Carthage College she played all four years of basketball at point guard. She was team captain her senior season for the Lady Reds team that was ranked in the top 25 for the majority of the season. During that season, Klemke led Carthage College to its first ever sweet 16 appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament.
Klemke, a native of Glenview, Ill. graduated from Glenbrook South High School in 2006 where she was a two-year letter winner in basketball and softball while also earning first-team all-conference in the Central Suburban South and All-Area Central Suburban League as team captain and shortstop.
Klemke currently resides in Mount Horeb and is pursuing a Master’s degree in Education with an emphasis in Athletic Administration at Edgewood College.
