Jill Dewane begins her first season as the graduate assistant coach for the Edgewood College women’s basketball team.
She had a stellar playing career at Lakeland College where she was a four year starter from 1998-2002. As a team they compiled a record of 96-14 during her four years. During this span the team was four-time conference champions, three-time conference tournament champions, and made three appearances into the NCAA tournament.
Jill holds numerous records at the college including the school’s all-time scoring leader and all-time steals leader. She was first team All-LMC for four years, three-time LMC Conference Player of the Year, and two-time Lakeland College Female Athlete of the Year.
During her senior season the team went 26-3 and broke the school record for most wins. She led the team in scoring (23.0 pts/game) which ranked her third in the nation. Her field goal percentage (60.3%) ranked her ninth and her free throw percentage (88.5%) was good for third in the nation. For her efforts she was awarded DIII News first team All-American, DIII News National Player of the Month (February), D3Hoops.com first team All-American, Kodak All-American, first team All-Central Region, and a finalist for the Josten’s Division Three National Player of the Year award.
Jill graduated from Lakeland College in 2002 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science with an emphasis on Sports and Facility Management. She also participated in softball and golf while at Lakeland.
She is a native of Denmark, Wis. and attended Denmark High where she was a three sport athlete. She was a starter on the high school softball team that won a Division 2 state title in 1997. As a senior she was named one of the top 25 basketball players in the state.
Jill is pursuing her Masters of Business Administration from Edgewood College.
