After serving as graduate assistant in 2019 and interim head coach in 2022 Garrett Wohlford has been named the Edgewood College Men' Lacrosse Head Coach for the 2022-23 school year.
Wohlford has continued to lead the Eagles men's lacrosse programs development, earning six wins in 2023, their third season. Wohlford has coached a total of four All-NACC honorees through the 2023 season.Â
During the 2022 season Wohlford led the Eagles to a 5-9, 2-6 NACC record. Wohlford served as interim head coach and earned the Eagles first two conference wins in program history.Â
The Rochester, Minnesota native comes to the Eagles after being a four-year starter at Concordia University Wisconsin. He was an All-American during his senior season (2019) and led the nation in save percentage while guiding his team to a MLC championship and a NCAA Tournament berth. Wohlford led the Falcons to two MLC regular season championships, along with the tournament championship in 2019.Â
Wohlford became the first player in the history of the MLC to be named the league's Defensive Player of the Year for four-straight seasons. Wohlford earned MLC Defensive Player of the Week honors more than 10 times and has nearly every goalkeeping record in the conference.Â
Wohlford graduated from Century High School in Rochester where he played football, hockey, and lacrosse. He is a History major with a minor in Human Ecology at Concordia University Wisconsin. Wohlford graduated from Edgewood College in 2022 with a Master's of Science in Organizational Leadership and Change.Â
