Thomas Breitbach

  • Title
    Graduate Assistant

Thomas Breitbach joined the Edgewood staff in 2014 as a graduate assistant coach. In his first fall assisting with the Eagles, he helped guide the women’s team to their top regional finish in program history, as well as school record-breaking performances by All-Regional finisher and NACC runner-up, Natasha Zanoya.

Breitbach has been coaching since 2011, starting as a student assistant at UW-Eau Claire’s men’s and women’s cross country teams. The women’s squad won the 2011 WIAC conference title and qualified for the national championships. Between both rosters, Breitbach helped mentor 9 All-Conference and 5 All-Region performances.

Breitbach worked from 2012-2014 as a volunteer assistant with Marquette University’s cross country and track & field teams, working with the long distance athletes. During his time, he mentored two athletes to the first round of the NCAA Championships for the first time in their careers. In addition, he oversaw the training of five individual all-time top 10 performances in Marquette history.

As an athlete, Thomas was a four-time Division III All-American for UW-Eau Claire. He captained the first men’s team to qualify for the NCAA cross country championships from the school in a decade, and also lead the national runner up indoor track team that was selected as USTFCCCA Academic Team of the Year.

Originally from Muskego, Wis., Thomas resides in Madison with his girlfriend and their guinea pig, Buttercup.
