Bethany Brewster has served as the Edgewood College's head cross country coach since 2004. In 2005, Brewster became the first head coach of the Eagles' men's and women's track programs.
During the 2021-22 academic year Brewster coached four All-NACC runners, as the women's cross country team finished runner-up at the NACC Championship. Lucas Caminiti defended his individual crown at the NACC Championships and was named Runner of the Year. In track & field, Brewster led Rachel Ehrhart to two wins at the NACC Outdoor Championships. Ehrhart then went on to win the Track Athlete of the Meet.Â
The 2020-21 academic year was another banner year for Brewster and the Eagles. She guided the Women's Cross Country team to a third-straight NACC Championship as the Eagles had five runners earn All-NACC honors for the second-straight year. Brewster was also named the NACC Coach of the Year once again after the Eagles secured the three-peat. The title was the fourth for the Women's Cross Country program overall (2015, 2018-20) and Brewster also has one cross country crown with the men's program (2009).Â
On the men's side, Brewster guided Lucas Caminiti to one of the greatest seasons in Edgewood College history for both track & field and cross country. In the shortened (COVID-19) cross country season, Caminiti won all three of his races, including the NACC Championships where he secured NACC Runner of the Year honors. Caminiti then went on to win the Track Athlete of the Meet at the NACC Outdoor Championships after winning two events and placing third in another.Â
Caminiti wasn't done yet in 2020-21 under Brewster's leadership as he became the second-ever Edgewood College track athlete to qualify for the NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships. He qualified in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, an event he broke both the school and NACC records in during the season, and finished ninth at the championship.Â
In the fall of 2019, Brewster led the Eagles to another strong Cross Country season which was highlighted by the Women's team winning a second-straight NACC Championship. The Eagles had five runners earn All-NACC honors on the Women's side and Brewster was named NACC Coach of the Year for a second-straight season. She now has won NACC Coach of the Year honors four times in cross country, three of those on the Women's side.Â
Â

The men also had a great season under Brewster's guidance in 2019, placing fifth at the NACC Championships. Brewster coached Henry Hansen to NACC Freshman of the Year honors, the Eagles second such award of the past three seasons.Â
The 2018 season saw the Eagles Women's Cross Country team capture its third NACC title in program history. The Eagles had three runners earn All-NACC status on the women's side en route to edging Benedictine for the league crown. Brewster also coached Piper Atnip to an All-Region selection after her Top-35 finish at the NCAA Division III Midwest Regionals. Brewster was named NACC Coach of the Year on the Women's side after leading the Eagles to the league title.Â

Brewster coached Zanoya to the highest national finish (78th of 280 runners) and second fastest 6k time in school history (21:46) at the 2016 NCAA Cross Country Championships. Brewster and the Eagles also set a school record with their best NCAA Regional finish in school history (10th) and three All-Region performers.

Two top-five NAC finishes highlighted the 2012 season for the men's and women's cross country teams in 2012 while both the men’s and women’s cross country teams placed second in 2011. Brewster guided the men to a third place finish behind Josh Williams and Grant Mickesh, who finished first and second, respectively. The women also turned in impressive times for a fifth place finish. Overall, three men and two women were named to the All-NAC squad.
Under Brewster, two Eagle runners finished in the top three in the 2010 men’s championship. Josh Williams was the top individual finisher. Williams earned All-Region and qualified for nationals where he set an Edgewood College record.  Three men and three women from the Edgewood College cross country teams were named to the All-NAC team.
Since the conclusion of the 2018 track season, Brewster has coached 22 NACC individual champions and six NACC-winning relays on the men's side and 22 NACC individual winners and nine NACC relay champions on the women's side. The 2009 track and field season saw the Eagles win their first two conference championships, both on the men's side. During the indoor season they won the first event title in school history, the distance medley relay, and in the outdoor season Connor Boushon took home the Eagles' first individual championship in the 3,000 meter steeplechase.
In 2008 the men's cross country team finished sixth at the NACC Championships and placed a runner in the top five for the first time since 2003 when Edgewood College was a member of the Lake Michigan Conference. On the women's side they placed fifth at the NAC Championships which was their highest finish since 2006 when they finished fourth.
