Rob Sorensen is set to begin his third season as an assistant coach with the Edgewood College Men’s Basketball team in 2020-21. Sorensen brings several years of experience in both basketball and athletics to the Eagles.
In his first season with Edgewood College (2018-19), the Eagles returned to the NACC Tournament. The Eagles went 10-10 in NACC play during the 2018-19 season. Three Eagles have earned All-NACC recognition over Sorensen’s first two seasons on the staff.
Sorensen has worked as a coach at various basketball camps in the region since 2013. He spent time in the women’s game early in his career, serving as an assistant coach at Onalaska High School from 2009-12, as well as a Graduate Assistant Coach at Notre Dame College, an NCAA Division II institution in Cleveland.
Sorensen has worked in the sports industry most of his life, which has included ballpark operations stints with both the Cleveland Indians and Milwaukee Brewers, as well as a Spring Training Operations Internship with the Pittsburgh Pirates. He also served as an Athletic Director at St. Margaret Mary School from 2014-16.
Sorensen, who resides in Monana, currently teaches Elementary Physical Education in the Madison Metropolitan School District. He also serves as the Head Boys Golf Coach at Madison West High School.
