DeMars is in his second year of coaching for Edgewood College after joining the staff in August 2012. Before helping out with the Eagles, DeMars worked for the Springfield Armor, the NBA D-League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets located in Springfield, Massachusetts. With the Armor, DeMars worked as the ticket sales manager, coordinating ticket sales with the arena.
DeMars played collegiate basketball at UW-La Crosse, earning athletic academic honor roll every season. The Eau Claire native graduated in May 2011 with a major in sports management and a business administration minor. While at UW-La Crosse, he helped run the Junior Eagle Youth Basketball Camps and coached youth basketball teams through the local Boys and Girls Club.
For the past three summers, DeMars has worked for Take it to the Rim Basketball Camp under Forrest Larson, recent inductee to the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame. Under Larson, he provided individual player instruction to camp attendees.
DeMars graduated from Eau Claire Regis High School in 2007, earning all-conference awards in basketball and football. His senior year, DeMars earned honorable mention all-state honors.
While at Edgewood College, DeMars will be working toward a Masters of Business Administration.Â
