Fitzgerald began his Edgewood College coaching career in August 2012. Prior to coaching for the Eagles, Fitzgerald attended Florida State University where he graduated with a Masters Degree in Sport Administartion with a concentration in coaching. While at Florida State, Fitzgerald taught undergraduate classes in basketball, golf, and tennis. He also worked with the men's basketball team and interned with the Director of Basketball Operations which entailed assisting in overall operations and running camps.
The Woodland Park, Colorado native played collegiate basketball at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, a Division II school in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Fitzgerald was selected to the Great Lakes Valley Conference all-academic first team each season and was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches honors court as a senior. Fitzgerald graduated in December 2010 with a degree in Sport Management and a minor in economics while obtaining a certificate in coaching.
While attending UW-Parkside, Fitzgerald helped run the Junior Rangers Youth Basketball Clinic and ran offseason conditioning, open gym, and skill development sessions for basketball players at the Racine Prairie School.
Fitzgerald graduated from Woodland Park High School in 2007 where he was an all-conference playeri n basketball, baseball, and golf.
While at Edgewood College, Fitzgerald will be working towards a Masters of Business Administration.
