Ken Spangenberg joined the Edgewood College Baseball coaching staff in the fall of 2009. Coach Spangenberg will work with the infielders and hitters, as well as act as the program’s recruiting coordinator.
Prior to joining the Eagles' coaching staff, Spangenberg served as an assistant coach at Keystone College, where he worked with the infielders, hitters, and assisted with recruiting. The Giants came one game away from the College World Series while sporting a final record of 40-6 and were also ranked as high as fourth in the country.
Under Spangenberg, the Keystone offense was first in the nation in scoring, second in runs scored, fourth in batting average, fifth in slugging percentage, eighth in home runs, and 16th in stolen bases. Members of the Giants' infield were honored with conference player of the year, conference rookie of the year, an ABCA-Rawlings Gold Glove award, four All-Colonial States Athletic Conference selections, one All-Region selection, and one All-American selection.
In the summer of 2009, Spangenberg also took over an Abington Legion team that was 4-16 the previous year and led them to a 19-6 overall record and a District title.
A 2008 graduate from Arcadia University, Spangenberg was a two-time all-conference selection in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference, as well as an all-conference selection in the Middle Atlantic Conference.
While at Arcadia he hit .355 and collected 155 hits with 113 runs scored, 98 RBI, nine home runs and also holds the school record for triples with 16.
Spangenberg graduated in 2004 from of Abington Heights High School where he was a three-year letter winner in both baseball and wrestling.
He currently resides in Madison, Wisconsin.
