High School: Ran at Sun Prairie high school under head coach Matthew Roe and won the Division I State team title as a senior... Also won sectionals, the Big 8 Conference, and finished as the top ranked DI girls team in the state... Earned Second Team All-Conference, Academic All-Conference... Set a personal 5k best of 19:49 and earned the Most Improved, Legacy, and Keep the Dream Alive team awards, was also a team co-captain, and a member of the Sun Prairie All-Time team... Won the Big 8 Conference as a junior and had a season best time of 21:05.
Personal: Daughter of Darin and Lois Berning... Majoring in nursing... Earned a band and academic letter... Was also in flute choir, band, HOSA (Health Occupation Students of America), and the National Honor Society... Volunteered at the Sun Prairie Food Pantry, Sunshine Supper, Love Begins Here: a church camp, Second Harvest Food Bank, and Just for Me Daycare in Sun Prairie...
