2021: NACC Scholar-Athlete…Competed at one indoor meet and seven outdoor meets…Became the second-ever Eagle to reach the NCAA Division III Track & Field Outdoor Championships, qualifying in the 3,000-meter steeplechase…Placed ninth in the event at the NCAA Championships (May 28)…Ran a personal-best, school record, and NACC record time of 9:06.64 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Dr. Keeler Meet (May 14), which at the time gave him the third best mark in all of Division III…Won both the 5,000-meter run and the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the NACC Outdoor Championships (May 7-8)…Added a second-place finish in the 1,500-meter run at the NACC Championships and was named the Track Athlete of the Meet…Won two events at the Mustang Invitational (May 1), the 800 and 1,500…Won the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a then PR time of 9:22.08 at the Warhawk Invitational (April 16)…Won the 3,000-meter run at only indoor event, the Aurora Grand Prix (February 27).
2020: NACC Scholar-Athlete...Competed at five meets during the indoor season…Outdoor season was canceled due to COVID-19…Set a school record in the mile at the UW-Oshkosh Titan Challenge (February 22), completing the race in 4:18.82…Finished second in the 3,000-meter run at the NACC Indoor Championships (February 29) with a PR time of 8:48.53…Was on the school-record setting DMR team at the NACC meet, helping the squad run a 10:44.48, good for a second-place finish…Won both the mile and the 3,000-meter run at the UW-Platteville Select (February 1).
2019: NACC Scholar-Athlete...Competed at eight meets…Was a member of the winning distance medley relay team at the NACC Indoor Championships (February 23), helping team run a 10:52.45…Ran a 10:19.18 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the NACC Outdoor Championships (May 3-4), good for a third-place finish…Posted a 4:26.30 in the mile run at the Titan Challenge (February 16), which moved him into second-place on the school’s honor roll for the event…Posted a 9:03.70 in the 3,000-meter run at season-opening UW-Oshkosh Early Bird (December 1), placing him fourth on the honor roll list.
2018: NACC Scholar-Athlete...Competed in 12 meets, at every event 800m and up... Placed second in the 3000m steeplechase (9:54.79 personal best) at the NACC Outdoor Championships and was less than two seconds from the winner, also finished third in the 5000m (16:17.87) and was named NACC Co-Freshman of the Meet for his pair of Top-3 finishes... Caminiti became only the second runner in school history to break 10 minutes in the steeplechase and only the sixth runner to break 16 minutes in the outdoor 5000m after posting a season-best 15:51.33 at the UW-Platteville Invitational... Placed third in the 3000m (9:14.02) and finished runner-up in the distance medley relay (10:54.26) at the NACC Indoor Championships... Set a season-best in the 1500m at UW-La Crosse (4:06.81) that ranked fifth in the NACC... Other personal bests include: outdoor 800m (2:02.99), mile (4:32.64), and 3000m (9:13.54)... High School: Ran at Wisconsin Heights high school under head coach Sara Lazarescu... Set a personal best of 16:45 and placed 11th at State and was also named Capitol Conference Performer of the Year... Placed 22nd at State and was named Capitol Conference Co-Performer of the Year... Set a season best of 17:10 as a junior... Earned First Team All-Conference and ran a season best of 17:29 as a sophomore... Also a three-time All-Conference track runner with a personal bests of 4:28 in the 1600m and 2:00 in the 800m... Played two years of varsity basketball.
Personal: Son of John and Carolyn Caminiti... Majoring in pre-engineering and physics... Ranked 5th in high school class and earned high honors... Was involved in band and National Honor Society... Moved from Michigan to Wisconsin, is related to Ben Franklin, and his great grandpa fought in WWI for Italy.
