VERONA, Wis. – The Edgewood University men's soccer team hosted No. 3 St. Olaf in non-conference action on Sunday afternoon. The Eagles hung tough with the Oles but ultimately fell 1-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- St. Olaf (3-0-0) wasted little time getting on the scoreboard on Sunday, as Charlie Piller found the back of the net, assisted by Jack Soares and Riker Doolittle.
- The Oles controlled the ball for most of the first 45 minutes, taking 11 shots compared to just three from the Eagles.
- The best offensive opportunity for Edgewood University (0-1-2) in the first half came from Connor Gage in the 32nd minute. Gage forced the Oles goalkeeper into his first save of the contest.
- Edgewood University settled in a bit more in the second half, taking five shots, three on target. Ultimately, the Eagles couldn't find the back of the net on Sunday.
- Ezra Wallace impressed in net for the Eagles, making five saves and limiting the Oles consistent attack.
- On the afternoon, St. Olaf led Edgewood University 23-8 in shots. Riley Kann and Connor Gage each took two shots on the day.
