APPLETON, Wis. – The Edgewood University men's lacrosse team fell in conference action at Lawrence University. The Vikings claimed a 9-5 win over the Eagles on Wednesday night, outscoring the Eagles 5-2 in the final two quarters.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood University (1-8, 1-4 NACC) scored first on Wednesday evening. Zach Thomas getting things going with 12:34 remaining in the first quarter. Lawrence University (6-5, 3-3 NACC) quickly responded, scoring twice in the first quarter and adding an early goal in the second quarter for a 3-1 advantage.
- Thomas scored his second goal in the second quarter to put the Eagles within one goal (3-2) of the Vikings. At halftime, Lawrence led 4-3.
- With 14:11 on the clock in the fourth quarter, Zach Thomas netted his third goal of the evening to tie the contest at four goals apiece. Lawrence scored a pair of goals in the final five minutes of the third quarter to take a 6-4 lead into the final 15 minutes.
- Wyatt Heabel scored the Eagles sole goal of the final quarter. Despite tying the game early in the third quarter, the Eagles attack slowed in the final quarter. The Vikings won four of the five faceoffs in the final quarter.

- Thomas posted three goals on Wednesday.
- Ryan Hanrahan caused a game-high four turnovers.
- Logan Searles collected 11 saves in net for the Eagles.
THE OPPOSITION
- Robbie Spielmann scored three goals and dished out two assists.
- Emmett Eischens scored twice.
- Gavin Reiter posted six saves in net for the Vikings.
- Jack Schwalbach caused three turnovers.
- Devon Cooper went 10-for-17 at the faceoff.
