Game Recap: Men's Volleyball |

High-octane Muskies ground Eagles

MADISON, Wis. – Men's Volleyball continued home action at the Todd Wehr Edgedome Tuesday night. They took on the Lakeland Muskies in a NACC battle. A high-octane Muskies (6-10, 1-2 NACC) offense was too much for the Eagles (3-7, 0-2) in a 3-1 (25-19, 17-25, 25-18, 25-23) defeat.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lakeland controlled the first set, hitting an impressive .394 in the frame. They fired off the starting line with an 8-2 run and never looked back.

- Edgewood University responded in kind in the second set. They hit .591 in the frame and evened the match with relentless offense. A 6-2 rally early got the hosts rolling, before a 7-2 sprint late pulled the Eagles ahead 22-14 to put the visitors away.

- While Edgewood University slowed down the Muskies early in the third frame, Lakeland clicked after falling behind 4-1. An 8-1 barrage featuring six kills and an ace saw them ahead 11-7. The Eagles would hang around, but four unanswered closed the third set firmly in the Muskies' favor.

- Edgewood University got the jump on Lakeland with a 7-2 run to open the fourth frame. The Muskies would not go away, however, and a 8-3 burst late pushed them ahead 18-17. A 5-2 stretch had Lakeland at match point 24-22, and a kill put away the victory for the Muskies.

- Lakeland hit .291 and had 62 kills for the evening. The Eagles tallied 13 blocks.

- Five Muskies finished with double-digit kills. Eli Weinrich swung for 16 and had a .429 hitting percentage on 28 attempts. He also tallied three aces.

- Sage Xiong earned a 12-kill, 11-dig double-double.

- Chase Anderson recorded 52 assists to fuel a high-flying Lakeland offense.

- Cade Schueller earned 16 kills and a .517 hitting percentage on 29 attempts. Carsyn Stringfellow finished with 10 kills.

- Ethan Hoffert posted 37 assists while Tanner Sindorf had 13 digs.

- Jack Keesling impressed at the net with nine blocks.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Schueller's 16 kills and .517 hitting percentage were personal bests. The .517 hitting percentage was the second-highest (min. 20 attempts) in a single match in program history.

- Sindorf's 13 digs were a new high watermark.

- Keesling's nine blocks were a new individual high.
