Eagles conclude Minnesota stay, conquer Vikings

ROGERS, Minn. – Women's Tennis continued their stay in Minnesota Saturday. They took on the Bethany Lutheran Vikings. The Eagles (12-4) soared, blanking the Vikings (3-3) 7-0.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood University set the tone in doubles. Evelyn Taylor/Hattie Plenty won 6-2 in the top slot, while Sophia Perret/Lauryn Krober earned a 6-4 victory in second billing.
 
- Christina Ekkela/Kaitlyn Narkis kept the good times rolling with a 6-2 final in no. 3 doubles.
 
- In singles, Taylor continued to fly high with a 7-6, 6-4 final in the first slot. Plenty fended off a comeback in no. 2 singles for a 6-1, 5-7, 7-5 win.
 
- Perret earned a dominant 6-1, 6-2 result in no. 3 singles. Narkis followed up with a 6-4, 6-3 result in the fourth slot.
 
- Ekkela and Krober finished off the sweep in impressive fashion. Ekkela claimed a 6-2, 6-0 final in fifth billing, while Krober put a bow on the sweep with a 6-3, 6-3 victory.
   
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Eagles have won three of their last four matches.
 
UP NEXT
Edgewood University will look to keep their momentum rolling as they return home next Saturday. They'll host Saint Mary's for more nonconference action. First serve is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. at the Powless Tennis Center.
