Service errors too much for Eagles at V-Hawks

LA CROSSE, Wis. – Men's Volleyball hit the road for a rematch Wednesday evening. They took on the Viterbo V-Hawks in nonconference action. The V-Hawks (1-9) outlasted the Eagles (3-6) 3-1 (25-23, 20-25, 25-19, 25-23).

HOW IT HAPPENED
- While Edgewood University fired off the starting line ahead 9-5, Viterbo battled back with a 7-2 answer to take the lead. Both teams brawled over the slimmest of edges, but a late 5-2 surge from the V-Hawks put the first set firmly in their tally.

- A 7-2 rally from the Eagles featuring five kills had them soaring up 12-8. Viterbo were unable to break through, held to a .000 hitting percentage as Edgewood University evened the match 1-1.

- After a 5-0 rally from Edgewood University had their momentum rolling into the early third frame, a 7-2 sprint from the V-Hawks was once again part of the story as they held a 12-9 lead over the Eagles. While three-straight points brought Edgewood University back to a draw, seven in a row from Viterbo pushed them ahead 21-14 and they never looked back.

- A 6-2 run from the V-Hawks pushed the Eagles behind the eight ball in the fourth frame. Viterbo kept Edgewood University at arm's length for most of the set, but a late 5-2 sprint from the Eagles tied things up at 23 as they looked to force a fifth set. The V-Hawks closed the door on the visitors with a pair of kills to wrap up the evening.

- While Edgewood University outhit Viterbo .169-to-.130, they had 25 service errors to the V-Hawks 10.

- Logan Amdur continued to do a bit of everything for Viterbo with 18 assists, 12 digs, and eight kills alongside a pair of aces.

- Three Eagles finished with double-digit kills. Oakley Griggs posted 13, while Carsyn Stringfellow and Owen Voigt had 10 apiece.

- Ethan Hoffert tallied 30 assists while Tanner Sindorf earned 12 digs.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Sindorf's 12 digs were a personal best for the freshman.

- Voigt's 10 kills were a season high.
