Eagles set program record for three-pointers at Raiders

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Men's Basketball hit the road as they continued conference action. They faced off with the MSOE Raiders. A record-setting night from three point land in the second half was not enough for the Eagles (1-13, 1-7 NACC) to overtake the Raiders (9-6, 7-1) in a 98-84 loss.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE took over the first half on a 13-2 run, fueling a 20-9 lead for the Raiders at 14:39. A later 14-2 burst had MSOE rolling ahead 54-28 with 2:47 remaining and the hosts went into the locker room up 56-31.
 
- While the Raiders maintained their lead for most of the second half, a 23-10 stretch from Edgewood University had the visitors rolling. The Eagles host 68.42 (13-of-19) percent from beyond the arc in the second half and closed within 92-84 with 1:56 left. MSOE would close out the game, holding Edgewood University scoreless claim a home victory.
 
- The Raiders dominated in the paint, outscoring the Eagles 38-to-12.
 
- MSOE had seven players with eight or more points. Jonathan Burroughs paced the hosts with 15 points.
 
- Chase Cummings and Carson Cordelli fueled a high-powered offense with five assists apiece.
 
- Will Gretzinger led all scorers with 16 points. Trent Tousana anchored the offense with 11 points and five assists.
 
- AC Strok recorded 10 points while Kaleb Walter earned eight in 11 minutes of action.
 
- Payton Bowser shined off the bench. He tallied 15 points with 5-of-9 shooting from the three-point line.
 
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The 19 three-pointers made were the most in program history in a single game.
 
- Bowser's 15 points and five made threes were both career bests.
 
UP NEXT
Edgewood University will look to get on track Saturday as NACC action continues. They'll face off with the Illinois Tech Scarlet Hawks in Chicago, Ill. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:15 p.m.
