MADISON, WIS. – Women's Tennis took a nonconference detour at Quann Park Sunday. They took on the Saint Ambrose Bees. The Eagles (5-1) rallied to claim a 4-3 nailbiter over the Bees (0-2)
HOW IT HAPPENED

Sophia Perret and
Lauryn Krober conceded a 6-1 final in the second slot.
Kaitlyn Narkis and
Christina Ekkela hung tough but fell 7-5 in no. 3 doubles.

Evelyn Taylor and
Hattie Plenty battled to the very end in top billing, losing a 7-6 (7-3) battle.
- Plenty evened the match with a 6-4, 6-4 victory in the second slot. Saint Ambrose took the lead back with a 6-2, 6-2 final against
Christina Ekkela in no. 5 singles.
- Taylor put Edgewood University back on track with a 6-4, 6-3 final in the top slot. Narkis put the Eagles at match point with an impressive rally, winning 2-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-5) in the fourth slot.
- After Perret dropped a 4-6, 7-5, 1-0 (11-9) marathon in the third slot, it came down to Krober in no. 6 singles. Krober shined, clinching the match with a 7-5, 7-6 (7-4) nailbiter final.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The victory was the first in program history for Edgewood University against the Bees.
- The two teams last met back in 2010.

The Eagles will return to their NACC Championship defense next Saturday. They'll hit the road to take on the MSOE Raiders at Glendale, Wis. First serve is to be announced.
