Box Score GAMBIER, Ohio – Riley Kann scored his first collegiate goal in the 62nd minute to help the Edgewood University men's soccer team to a 1-1 draw at No. 13 Kenyon College. The Eagles scored first, with the Owls quickly responding to even the contest at one a piece.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Riley Kann found the ball from a perfectly placed pass from Liam Moreira in the 62nd minute. Kann's goal through the heart of the No. 13 Kenyon College (1-0-1) defense gave Edgewood University (1-0-1) a 1-0 advantage.
- The Owls quickly responded, taking advantage of pressure in the box and scoring in the 66th minute to even the score.
- The Eagles defense worked hard on Sunday, holding the Owls attack to just four shots on goal in the contest. More importantly, the Eagles didn't allow a shot on goal from Kenyon in the final 25 minutes.
- Maverick Van Laanen recorded three saves in net for the Eagles, all coming in the first half of action.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Sunday's contest was the first meeting between the Eagles and Owls in program history.
