ORLANDO, FLA. – Men's Tennis kicked off Spring Break in Florida Monday morning. They faced off with the Western Connecticut State Wolves. The Eagles (4-6) got back on track with a 5-2 victory against the Wolves (0-2).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After
Justin Hutchcroft and
Andrew Hoffmann fell 6-3 in top doubles, Edgewood College rallied.
Jon Olafsson and
Marek Woytasik earned a 6-4 final in second billing, before
Taite Thomas and
William Faley clinched the doubles point.
- Olafsson won a thriller in top singles. He emerged victorious with a 6-4, 2-6, 1-0 (14-12) final. Hutchcroft fell 6-2, 6-0 in second billing.
- Hoffmann and Woytasik helped finish off the match for the Eagles. Hoffmann claimed a 6-0, 6-1 final in third singles, while Woytasik won 6-1, 6-0 in no. 4 singles.
- Thomas continued to play well, winning 6-3, 6-2 in fifth billing. Faley battled in a hard-fought sixth singles match but fell 6-4, 7-5.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- With the victory, Edgewood College exceeded their win total from 2023-24. Their four victories is the most since the 2018-19 season.
- The meeting was the first between the two programs.

The Eagles will continue Spring Break action in Orlando, Fla. tomorrow. They'll face off with the Hamline Pipers at the USTA National Campus. First serve is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. EST.
