AURORA, ILL.- Men's Basketball headed south Wednesday as they looked to get back on the right track in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) play. They squared off with the Aurora Spartans. The Spartans (6-9, 4-4 NACC) commanded the evening on route to a 96-66 victory over the Eagles (4-12, 3-6).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College kept pace with Aurora through the first five minutes of play, trailing 10-5. After the Spartans rattled off nine straight points, the Eagles trimmed the lead back down to 22-13 at 10:51 with a pair of threes. Aurora pulled away over the next 4:15, putting together a 16-3 barrage. They would head to the locker room ahead 48-32.

- The Spartans continued to roll in the second half, starting off with a 14-2 sprint to claim a 28-point lead. They would possess as much as a 37-point advantage as they claimed a decisive victory.

- Aurora shot 52.5 (31-of-59) percent from the field. They outrebounded Edgewood College 43-to-30 and had a 20-to-8 advantage in second chance points.

- Five Spartans finished with double-digit points. Mehki Doby and Maxwell Marius each posted 16-point outings, while Dwayne Jervier Jr. earned a 12-point, 12-rebound double-double.

Drew Houtakker paced the Eagles with 13 points, six rebounds, three assists, and two steals.

UP NEXT
Edgewood College will return to action at the Todd Wehr Edgedome Saturday. They'll face off with the Lakeland Muskies with a 1:00 p.m. tipoff. The Eagles won at the Muskies on December 4 83-78.
