The Edgewood College Athletics Department is pleased to announce that three former Eagle coaches have been selected for induction into the Edgewood College Athletics Hall of Fame. Gary Oftedahl (1998-2023), Tim Alexander (1990-2022), and Mike Shult (1993-2024) will be inducted into a ceremony on Wednesday, August 28.

Tim Alexander (Men's Soccer 1990-2014; Baseball, 1992-1997; Women's Soccer, 1993-2018; Men's Tennis 1997-2000; Women's Golf 2019-2022)

Alexander is the cornerstone of Edgewood College soccer, having led the men's soccer team from 1990-2014 and the women's soccer team from 1993-2018. In 26 seasons as the women's head coach, Alexander has a career record of 331-160-29 and 199-45-8 in conference play while coaching two Honorable Mention All-Americans, 19 NSCAA All-Region, seven Conference Player of the Years, eight All-Conference Freshman of the Year, and 90 First Team All-Conference selections. Overall, the men's soccer program captured two regular season conference championships and five tournament titles. The women's program won 10 regular season titles, including eight-straight from 1994-2001. The women's team also gained seven tournament championships. Alexander made history in 2010, becoming the fifth coach in NCAA history to own 200 men's and 200 women's wins. In 2013 he became just the 17th coach in NCAA history to reach 500 wins and left the Eagles with 574 career victories. Alexander returned to Eagles athletics in 2019 to lead the women's golf program. He also served in many other roles during his time at Edgewood College, including head baseball and men's tennis coach, as well as administrative roles.

Mike Shult (Women's Basketball, 1993-1999; Men's Basketball, 1998-2024; Softball, 2002-2011) 

Shult is being inducted for his contributions and leadership in growing the Edgewood College basketball and softball programs. Serving in various roles from recruiter and scout to assistant coach and director of basketball, Mike Shult has shown commitment to Eagles athletics. Shult's 31-year dedication to Edgewood College Athletics has provided student-athletes with new opportunities and growth on and off the field of play.  

Gary Oftedahl (Women's Basketball 1998-2008; Men's Golf, 2000-2023, Women's Golf, 2008-2013)

Oftedahl experienced great success with the men's and women's golf programs as head coach. He led the men's program from 2000-2023 and the women's program from 2008-2013. Oftedahl also served time with the women's basketball program from 1998-2008. Under Oftedahl's leadership, the Eagles men's golf program recorded eight-straight runner-up finishes at the NACC Championships since the 2015-16 season. Since the 2006-07 season and through the 2022-23 campaign he coached 40 All-NACC players, five NACC medalists, three NACC Players of the Year, three NACC Freshman of the Year, and has won three NACC Coach of the Year awards. Oftedahl led the men's golf program to conference championships and NCAA Championship appearances in 2013-14 and 2011-12.

The Edgewood College Hall of Fame is currently comprised of 39 individual members and one team. The Edgewood College Athletics Hall of Fame plaques are displayed on campus in the Todd Wehr Edgedome.
