Eagles season comes to a close against Falcons in NACC Baseball Tournament

MONTGOMERY, ILL. – The Edgewood College Eagles baseball squad battled in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Tournament Wednesday. As the six seed, they faced off with the seventh-seeded Concordia Wisconsin Falcons in an elimination game. The Eagles (20-20) got the jump on the Falcons (18-20) early, but Concordia Wisconsin scored nine unanswered runs to win 9-6 in 10 innings.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College put together a six-run second inning. Carson Richter singled to right center for a pair of runs, while a Kyle Prindle grounder to first base tallied another. Kyle Sagan hit a two-RBI double to center field. Xavier Schreiber wrapped up the inning with a single through the right side for a 6-0 lead.

- Ryan Mixey had a strong outing and held the Falcons scoreless until the fifth inning. A fielder's choice to second base put Concordia Wisconsin on the board.

- A single to center field and a single to right field plated two more runs for the Falcons in the eighth to close to 6-3. They would stay alive in the ninth with a two-run home run to right field and a double down the left field line.

- Concordia Wisconsin continued to hold the Eagles scoreless as the two teams went to the 10th inning. A three-run triple to left center out the Falcons ahead 9-6 in the tenth as they earned the victory.

- Sagan hit 3-for-4 with a pair of RBIs and a double.

- Mixey pitched 8.1 innings with three strikeouts.
