MONTGOMERY, ILL. – The Edgewood College Eagles baseball squad battled in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Tournament Wednesday. As the six seed, they faced off with the seventh-seeded Concordia Wisconsin Falcons in an elimination game. The Eagles (20-20) got the jump on the Falcons (18-20) early, but Concordia Wisconsin scored nine unanswered runs to win 9-6 in 10 innings.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College put together a six-run second inning.
Carson Richter singled to right center for a pair of runs, while a
Kyle Prindle grounder to first base tallied another.
Kyle Sagan hit a two-RBI double to center field.
Xavier Schreiber wrapped up the inning with a single through the right side for a 6-0 lead.

Ryan Mixey had a strong outing and held the Falcons scoreless until the fifth inning. A fielder's choice to second base put Concordia Wisconsin on the board.
- A single to center field and a single to right field plated two more runs for the Falcons in the eighth to close to 6-3. They would stay alive in the ninth with a two-run home run to right field and a double down the left field line.
- Concordia Wisconsin continued to hold the Eagles scoreless as the two teams went to the 10th inning. A three-run triple to left center out the Falcons ahead 9-6 in the tenth as they earned the victory.
- Sagan hit 3-for-4 with a pair of RBIs and a double.
- Mixey pitched 8.1 innings with three strikeouts.
UP NEXT
With the loss, the Eagles concluded their third-straight NACC Tournament appearance. The 2024 season also saw the squad have their third season in a row with 20 or more wins. As a team, they set the program's single season record for triples with 17. Sagan broke the career runs record, surpassing Travis Krahn's (2001-04) mark of 168 runs with his 178.
Connor Goodwin earned the career stolen bases record, his 74 stolen bases passing Cory McCullick (2006-09) and his 71.
