DE PERE, Wis. – The Edgewood College softball team took to the road for the final time in the regular season on Friday. The Eagles got off to a hot start, earning a game one victory over St. Norbert College on Friday afternoon, and securing the split. The Eagles took game one 10-5, before falling in the nightcap 9-4.
EDGEWOOD COLLEGE 10, ST. NORBERT 5 (GAME ONE)
- Edgewood College (20-18, 9-13 NACC) scored in each of the first three innings in game one to take a convincing 7-1 lead through the first three innings. Elizabeth Malarski got the scoring started for the Eagles, coming across home in the first inning.
- The Eagles continued to roll in the second frame, scoring three times. Alyse Maurer came across via a Camden Shepherd single. Natalie Fields and Shepherd also scored in the inning.
- Another three-run frame in the third game Edgewood College a 7-0 advantage. St. Norbert College (10-30, 6-18 NACC) scored their first run in the bottom of the third frame.
- The fourth, fifth, and sixth innings went scoreless for both teams. Edgewood College plated three runs in the top of the seventh to take a 10-1 lead. A pair of singles from Jenna Sanchez and Shepherd were key in the inning.
- The Green Knights mounted a come-back in the seventh inning, but Edgewood College held strong to take home the game one win.
- Grace Pustina earned the win for the Eagles in the circle. She pitched 6.2 innings and struck out two batters. Addison Race went the distance for the Green Knights. She scattered 10 hits and struck out four batters.
- Olivia Hebert went 3-for-3 in game one, roping two doubles. Maurer, Sanchez, and Shepherd each added two hits.
ST. NORBERT 9, EDGEWOOD COLLEGE 4 (GAME TWO)
- The Green Knights opened the nightcap with four runs in the first inning. A pair of two RBI singles gave St. Norbert a 4-0 lead that held until the third frame.
- Edgewood College's first run of the game came via a single off the bat of Elizabeth Malarski that plated Carlie Odejewski. The Eagles would score again in the fourth frame, an Alyse Maurer triple plating Grace Ott.
- St. Norbert responded, plating five in the bottom of the fourth frame to take a 9-2 lead.
- Edgewood College added two runs in the fifth frame, but it wasn't enough to shut down the Green Knights.
- Lilly Haase, Ava Engwall, Christina Paleka, and Meghan Gonnering each recorded two hits for St. Norbert. Engwall recorded three RBI.
- Odejewski went 2-for-2 in the nightcap, she scored twice. Natalie Fields and Grace Ott both recorded two hits.
- Cassie Schultz earned the complete game win for the Green Knights. She scattered nine hits and struck out two batters. Tatum Duff and Grace Baugnet combined for six innings of work for Edgewood College. Baugnet went five innings in relief, scattering five hits.

- Edgewood College will host Wisconsin Lutheran College on Sunday in their regular season finale. The Eagles will look to clinch a spot in the NACC Tournament and celebrate the senior class. Action is set to begin at 10:00 a.m. from Ceniti Park.
