MEQUON, WIS. – The Edgewood College Eagles men's tennis squad played in their first Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) match since the 2018-19 season Tuesday. They faced off with the Concordia Wisconsin Falcons. The Falcons (11-8) eliminated the Eagles (3-15) with a 5-0 final.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons set the tone in doubles.
Alton Robinson and
William Faley fell by an 8-0 final in third doubles.
Caden Nelson and
Andrew Hoffmann lost in 8-3 fashion as the top doubles pairing, while
Jon Olafsson and
Marek Woytasik lost 8-4 in second doubles.
- Concordia Wisconsin clinched their ticket to the semifinals early in singles. Nelson was defeated by a 6-0, 6-0 final in top billing, before Robinson fell 6-2, 6-0 in fifth singles to seal the deal.
UP NEXT
The loss wrapped up the 2023-24 season for men's tennis. They returned to the NACC Tournament for the first time under head coach
Kevin Friend and for the first time since the 2018-2019 season.
