Errors, late rally down Eagles against Panthers

MONTGOMERY, ALA. – The baseball squad continued their stay down south Saturday after a break for rain yesterday. They battled with the Middlebury Panthers in nonconference action. The Panthers (1-0) rallied late to take a 12-9 victory over the Eagles (2-3).

HOW IT HAPPENED
- A ground out to the shortstop put Middlebury on the board first in the first inning, but Edgewood College quickly reclaimed the lead in second. A two-RBI double to left field from Brooks Kalscheur kicked things off before Ryan Ambrosy singled to right field to score one. An RBI single to right field tallied a run for the Panthers in the bottom of the second.

- Mac Vesperman hit a sac fly to center field in the fourth for a 4-2 Edgewood College lead. A pair of wild pitches scored a pair of runs for the Panthers to tie things up 4-4 after four.

- Vesperman and Kalscheur continued their strong day in the sixth, a single to left field from the former and a sacrifice fly to right field for the latter adding a pair of runs to the tally. A one RBI single coupled with an error evened things back up for the Panthers after six.
