Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Second half run pushes Titans past Eagles

OSHKOSH, Wis. – The Edgewood College Eagles men's basketball squad continued their non-conference road swing Tuesday evening. They faced off with the UW-Oshkosh Titans. The Titans (5-1) pulled away as the Eagles (1-3) shot cold in the second half in a 72-59 defeat.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College built up a 7-2 lead at the 14:30 mark of the first half after a Trent Tousana three-pointer. UW-Oshkosh would swing things back in their favor with six-straight points in the next 2:05. Two three-pointers would help Edgewood College build to a 15-11 advantage at the 10:35 mark.

- Good free throw shooting and accurate shooting from the field would help the Eagles maintain that edge as the first half went on, but a 6-2 run from the Titans would put them ahead 30-28 with 1:31 remaining in the half. UW-Oshkosh would head into the locker rooms ahead 33-32.

- Edgewood College shot 41.94 (13-of-31) from the field in the first half.

- The two teams jockeyed over single-possession leads for the first eight minutes of the second frame, but the Titans would take over the game. Starting at the 11:51 mark, UW-Oshkosh went on a 20-3 run over the next 6:08 to pull ahead 62-46. The Eagles struggled to answer, shooting only 25 (9-of-36) percent from the field in the second half.

- Two UW-Oshkosh players finished with double-doubles. Michael Metcalf-Grassman finished with 24 points and 12 rebounds while Jonah Rindfleisch tallied 13 rebounds and 11 points.

- The Titans won the rebounding battle 44-to-35.

- Tousana paced Edgewood College with 17 points. Matt Kirk added 12 points, two assists, and a block.

- Drew Houtakker and Hunter Hardyman each posted 10 points. Houtakker earned seven rebounds and two steals, while Hardyman tacked on a block.
