DE PERE, Wis. – The Edgewood College women's soccer team faced St. Norbert College in the regular season finale on Thursday evening. The Eagles, in need of a win to earn their spot in the NACC Tournament, earned a 1-1 draw to the Green Knights. It was a battle that was determined by penalty kick goals from both sides.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- St. Norbert College (6-9-3, 5-4-3 NACC) scored first on Thursday evening, as Abby Thompson netted the penalty kick in the 15th minute.
- Edgewood College (9-5-5, 3-5-4 NACC) quickly responded, scoring a penalty kick of their own. Grace Johnson found the back of the net in the 24th minute to tie the contest.
- Through the gusty night, the Eagles led the Green Knights taking 13 shots, compared to just four from the host.
- The closest look at a victory for the Eagles came in the 84th minute, as Reaghan Spencer took a shot that just barely missed the right corner of the net.
- Hailey Corcoran closed out her senior campaign in net for the Eagles, making one save.
- Kamy Luecke, Spencer, Johnson, Riley Haertle, and Aubrie Cruz each recorded two shots for the Eagles.
