CHICAGO, ILL. – Continuing their late-season road trip, the Edgewood College Eagles men's basketball squad headed south Wednesday night. They faced the Concordia Chicago Cougars in a Northern Athletic Collegiate Conference (NACC) clash. The Cougars (11-10, 7-7 NACC) leveraged a strong performance stealing the ball to an 88-69 victory over the Eagles (8-13, 7-7).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Concordia Chicago jumped out to a 10-point advantage at 13:39 with a 9-3 rally, shortly before scoring 17 unanswered points to take a commanding 38-13 lead. Eight points in a row to close the half for Edgewood College would cut the edge down to 44-27.
- The Eagles carried their momentum into the first five minutes of the second half, cutting down the host's advantage to 53-40 with 14:46 left in the game. Edgewood College struggled to get any closer as the Cougars claimed a home victory.
- Concordia Chicago recorded 14 steals and finished with a 29-to-7 advantage in points off turnovers.

Drew Houtakker led all Eagles with 19 points and a pair of steals.

Cade Ellingson earned a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds, as well as four assists.

Trey Traeder rounded out the double-digit scorers for the visitors with 10 points, while
Dawson Hughes tallied nine points and six rebounds.
- Four Cougars contributed multiple steals, with William Bishop-Green and Joel Watts grabbing four apiece.
- Jacob Collicott led both teams with 29 points with 13-of-16 shooting from the floor.

- The two teams split the season series, with each winning on their home court.
- The 14 steals by Concordia Chicago were the second-most allowed by Edgewood College in 2023-24, and the 20 turnovers by the Eagles counted as the second most in a game this season.
