MILWAUKEE, Wis. - The Edgewood College men's soccer team made its first NACC Tournament appearance under Head Coach Tim Bruner on Saturday evening, playing at MSOE. The Eagles, the eighth seed in the NACC Tournament couldn't slow down the first-seeded Raiders offense, falling 5-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (15-1-3) scored two times before halftime and added three goals after the break with five different Raiders finding the back of the net. The Raiders outshot the Eagles 29-5 on Saturday.
- Lukas Schwenke scored in the 10th minute, assisted by Connor Dees to take a 1-0 lead. Steven Arthur added the second goal for the Raiders just before halftime.
- Nathan Dresen, Nico Picha, and Wasi Ewnetu each scored in the second half for MSOE. Ewnetu's goal, the fifth for the Raiders, came via penalty kick.
- Edgewood College (8-9-3) couldn't find the back of the net, taking five shots, two on goal. Noah Hook led the attack with two shots. Drew Jarstad and Leo Krause each put their only shot of the evening on goal.
- Maverick Van Laanen recorded four saves in goal for the Eagles.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- It was an incredibly strong season for Edgewood College, who finished with their best record since the 2018 season. In addition, their NACC Tournament berth was the first since 2018.
