Raiders hold Eagles at bay in NACC opener

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Edgewood College men's soccer team was shut out, 3-0, to begin NACC play against MSOE Wednesday. The loss drops the Eagles to 0-4-1 on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Edgewood College (0-4-1, 0-1-0 NACC) defense struggled to hold back the undefeated MSOE (6-0-0, 1-0-0) attack through the first half of action. The Raiders scored all three of their goals in the first 45 minutes of play. The first goal came from Lukas Schwenke in the 16th minute. Just 11 minutes later, Zach Thompson added the Raiders second goal, assisted by Daniel D'Amato. With just under 10-minute left in the first half, Kilian Oelrich found the back of the net for the third and final MSOE goal of the evening.

- The Eagles offense found most success in the first period, taking four shots, three on goal in the period. Overall, the Raiders outshot the Eagles 19-5. Will Thesing, Owen Kauffeld, Connor Thompson, Kevin Espinoza, and Wesley Meshenky each took a shot for Edgewood College.

- Goalkeeper Jack Gentner recorded five saves and played a key role in limiting the Raiders attack. Brody Ping collected three saves for MSOE.
