KOHLER, Wis. – The Edgewood College and Illinois Tech Women's Tennis teams played in the NACC Tournament Final on Sunday. The Scarlet Hawks pulled out a 5-1 win, earning the NACC's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College (12-7) began the day with a doubles win. The No. 2 duo of Ellie Murphy and Jewel Lindwall picked up a big 8-2 win to begin doubles play. The Eagles fell in the other two doubles matches, as Illinois Tech (16-5) took a 2-1 lead into singles play.
- The Scarlet Hawks continued to roll, picking up wins at No. 1 singles, No. 3 singles, and No. 6 singles for the win. Cecile Fuchs had a tough battle with Morgan Colbert in the No. 1 slot. Fuchs battled back in game two but eventually lost in a 7-3 tiebreak.
