CHICAGO, Ill. – The Edgewood College Women's Basketball team recorded its highest point total of the season Tuesday night. The Eagles shot extremely well in the 90-54 win over Illinois Tech, including 57.4 percent from the floor, the highest of the 2021-22 season. In addition, five players scored in double-figures in the conference victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College (7-11, 7-4 NACC) got off to a quick lead, going on a 12-2 run through the first three minutes of action. The Eagles would lead 29-17 after the first period and never look back.
- The Eagles led 48-30 going into the third period but didn't let their comfortable lead stop them. Edgewood College knocked down 24 points in the third period and did so with a 13-0 run, taking a commanding 72-37 lead into the final 10 minutes of action.
- The Eagles spread the ball well, finishing with a team total of 25 assists, their highest of the season. Kenzie Senffner lead the team with a career-high six assists, while Vivian Guerrero dished out five assists.
- Edgewood College dominated the rebounding game on Tuesday night, as they pulled down 42 rebounds in comparison to just 29 from Illinois Tech (4-13, 1-10 NACC). Guerrero pulled down a team-high eight rebounds, while Claudia Fieiras, Kallie Norby, and Mady Pahl pulled down five each.
- Diamond Pikulyk led the Eagles scoring with 18 points and was perfect from the floor and the free throw line. Mady Pahl picked 12 points in the victory, connecting on 6-for-10 from the floor. Norby added a career-best with 12 points on 6-for-8 shooting. Abby Shane and Eden Bonser added 10 points each, both crucial in helping the Eagles gain the early lead.
- The Edgewood College bench dominated with 47 points compared to zero from the Scarlet Hawks. In addition, the Eagles scored 22 points off turnovers, forcing five steals and 19 turnovers from Illinois Tech.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Edgewood College recorded their best shooting performance of the season, connecting on 39-of-68 from the floor for 57.4 percent. The Eagles have recorded their three best shooting performances of the season in the past four weeks, including a 54 percent shooting percentage in a January 15 victory over Alverno College and a 56.9 shooting percentage against Lakeland University.
- Senior Abby Shane now owns the records for games started at 107 and games played at 112. Jordan Kittoe (2003-07) previously held both career records.
THE OPPOSITION
- The Illinois Tech offense was led by Julia Bucci who recorded 25 points, knocking down an impressive five three-pointers and connecting on 4-for-4 from the charity stripe. Allie Sillo added 14 points for the Scarlet Hawks, while Deriniece Moton pulled down eight rebounds.

- The Eagles will host St. Norbert College on Thursday, February 3. Conference action is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. from the Todd Wehr Edgedome.
