Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Eagles take down Green Knights for Fifth-Straight NACC Win

VERONA, Wis. – The Edgewood College women's soccer team continued to show their strength, defeating St. Norbert College 1-0 and solidifying their fifth-straight Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference victory. The Eagles controlled the ball 56 percent of the contest, although 69 percent of their control occurred in the middle of the field. Greta Blau came through once again for Edgewood College, scoring the winning goal in the 40th minute.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- It was a tight match-up, as Edgewood College (9-1-1, 5-0-1 NACC) barely outshot St. Norbert (5-7-0, 4-3-0 NACC) 12-11 on the evening. It was a goal from Blau in the 40th minute that proved to be the difference as she notched her seventh goal of the season from 25 yards out, assisted by Kristen Palmer.

- Blau led the Eagles offense with five shots, three on goal. Mandy Fitzgerald and Lauren Clark both notched two shots, one each on goal. In total, Edgewood College recorded 12 shots, eight on goal. Eight shots came in the first half, with four coming through the final 45 minutes.

- Hailey Corcoran made five saves for Edgewood College, as her counterpart, Lilly Collins notched seven saves for the Green Knights.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Eagles have not allowed a goal in eight contests this season, an impressive feat. Just four goals have been allowed this season, and just one in conference play. MSOE and Edgewood, who sit one and two in conference standing, are the only two schools in the conference to have given up one goal in conference action.

- Blau has now scored in five-straight contests for Edgewood College, as she leads the team with seven goals. The freshman also owns four game winning goals.

UP NEXT
- Edgewood College will head to Benedictine University on Saturday for more conference play. Action from Lisle, Ill. is set for 5:00 p.m.
