MEQUON, Wis. – The Edgewood College women's soccer team made its second NACC Tournament appearance under Head Coach Derek Helmer on Saturday afternoon, playing at Concordia University Wisconsin. The Eagles, the fifth seed in the NACC Tournament, couldn't slow down the fourth-seeded Falcons offense, falling 6-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Concordia University Wisconsin (15-3-2) scored two times before halftime and added four goals after the break with Karoline Haughland finishing the day with a hat trick. The Falcons outshot the Eagles 15-8 on Saturday.
- In addition to Haughland's hat trick, Concordia Wisconsin received goals from Selena Esten, Isabel Downs, and Maya Bell. Jordan Lafferty, Haughland, Carmen Rowe, and Downs each recorded an assist for the Falcons.
- Edgewood College (11-5-2) couldn't find the back of the net, despite taking seven shots in the second half, five on goal. Sydney Feldner led the attack with two shots, one on goal. Leah Doucette, Lauren Clark, Elise Gillen, Greta Blau, Sibohan Gallagher, and Lauryn Nachreiner each took one shot.
- Kailey Adamski recorded four saves for Edgewood College.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- It was a strong season for Edgewood College, who finished with a .667 record, their best since the 2016 season.
- The Eagles posted a 7-3-2 record in conference play; the most NACC wins since 2016. The future is bright for Edgewood College women's soccer. As a predominately young team in 2022, the Eagles will look to further their success in 2023.
