RIVER FOREST, Ill. – The Edgewood College Eagles women's tennis squad started the final part of their Fall 2022 schedule Saturday. They traveled for a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) matchup with Concordia Chicago. The Eagles (5-4, 5-1 NACC) rolled over the Cougars (1-9, 0-6) on their way to a 9-0 victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College was nearly flawless in doubles. The pairs of
Cecile Fuchs/
Ellie Murphy and
Evelyn Taylor/
Christina Ekkela both earned 8-0 victories, while
Madelyn Connaughty and
Callie Belschner were similarly impressive in their 8-1 victory.

Cassie Henderson was flawless in no. 5 singles, taking a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Alexa Hoover. Fuchs put the clinching touch on the match with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Heidie Hesse in slot one.

Maddy Coopmans claimed a 6-2, 6-2 win in no. 3 singles over Jessica Parker, while
Jewel Lindwall won 6-3, 6-3 over Ali Wingood in second billing.
- Taylor and Belschner put a bow on the clean sweep with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Giza Kamila in slot four and a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Ella Seebach respectively.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Eagles are now 15-0 against the Cougars since 2007, having beaten Concordia-Chicago by 7-2 or better each time.
- Nine Edgewood College athletes took part in the sweep.
UP NEXT
The Eagles will return to their home court in Madison, Wis. Sunday for another conference battle. They'll play host to Alverno College starting at 10:00 a.m. The Eagles are 14-0 against the Inferno since 2007.
