Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Eagles Road Woes Continue at MSOE

MILWAUKEE – The Edgewood College Men's Basketball team dropped a 78-54 contest at MSOE on Saturday afternoon. Jake Schroeckenthaler recorded his ninth double-double of the season and Caden Nelson added 18 points, but it was not enough in Saturday's setback against the Raiders.

RAIDERS 78, EAGLES 54
- MSOE (7-11, 3-8 NACC) went wire-to-wire in the win on Saturday. The Raiders scored the first six points of the game and took a 35-28 lead into halftime. Schroeckenthaler had 12 points in the first 20 minutes, while Nelson added 10 to pace the Eagles (7-10, 6-4 NACC).

- After leading by nine at halftime, the Raiders opened the second half on an 11-0 run and never looked back. Edgewood College struggled on offense Saturday as the 54 points were the second lowest of the season. The Eagles have scored under 60 just three times this year, the last all the way back on December 1, 2021.

- When the team's met earlier this season, MSOE was without the services of senior Michale Pitrof, a game Edgewood College won 61-60. Pitrof led the Raiders on Saturday with 25 points on 10-of-15 shooting, while adding six rebounds and seven assists.

- Schroeckenthaler finished the game with 20 points on 9-of-18 shooting, while adding 13 rebounds for his ninth double-double. He has scored in double figures in every game this season. Nelson tied a career high with 18 points, making 7-of-10 from the floor and 2-of-4 from 3-point range. As a team, the Eagles shot 34.9 percent (22-for-63) from the floor and just 22.2 percent (4-for-18) from 3-point range.

- MSOE was efficient on the offensive end with a 55.9 percent (33-for-59) showing, while making 54.5 percent (6-of-11) from deep. Joey Immekus joined Pitrof in double figures with 14 points, connecting on 5-of-7 from floor and 3-of-4 from 3-point range.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- It has been quite the difference for the Eagles this season when playing at home versus on the road. Edgewood College is 6-1 at home this year, but 1-7 on the road and 1-9 in games played away from the Todd Wehr Edgedome (0-2 in neutral site games). The good news for the Eagles, four of the final six regular season games are at home.

UP NEXT
- The Eagles will play one of those home games on Tuesday night against Dominican at 7 p.m.
