ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – An historic season for Edgewood College Women's Basketball came to an end on Friday in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. The Eagles battled the Titans of UW-Oshkosh, falling 61-40. It was the first NCAA Tournament appearance for Edgewood College since 2005 and the Eagles ended the year with a program-record 25 wins.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College (25-3) couldn't get much going on Friday, finishing the game shooting 26.8 percent from the floor. Still, in the game's opening quarter the Eagles and Titans went back-and-forth with Edgewood College trailing by just six (21-15) after 10 minutes of play.

Alyssa Lemirande scored eight of her team-high 10 points in the first quarter, making 4-of-5 from the field. Her sister Bria added five rebounds in the quarter, while
Lexi Walter made a couple jumpers in the final two minutes of the first to keep the Eagles within striking distance.
- The Titans (19-10) opened up the second quarter with a 7-0 run and ended up outscoring Edgewood College, 16-7, in the quarter. UW-Oshkosh took a 37-22 lead into the break and then opened the second half on a 13-0 run to put away the Eagles.

Alyssa Lemirande finished the game with 10 points, while
Bria Lemirande ended the contest with a game-high 12 rebounds.
Lexi Walter added eight rebounds as the two teams each finished with 39 boards. The Eagles struggled from deep, making just 2-of-20, but did hold UW-Oshkosh from long distance as they ended up making 4-of-18 (22.2 percent). The Titans shot just 34.9 percent in the game as well.
- Nikki Arneson led the way for the Titans with 21 points and seven rebounds. Leah Porath added 11 points, but Edgewood College made things difficult for the WIAC Player of the Year (Porath), who shot just 4-for-14 from the field.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- This season will be one to remember for Edgewood College Women's Basketball. The Eagles won 25 games, captured a NACC Tournament title for the first time, and returned to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 15 years.
- Everything the Eagles accomplished this season was done without one senior on the roster. Edgewood College will return everyone in 2020-21 as it looks to make a return to the NCAA Tournament.
