FOND DU LAC, Wis. – The Edgewood College Baseball team was swept in a NACC doubleheader at Marian University Saturday. The Eagles had trouble solving the Sabres pitching, scoring just one run over the two contests as Marian took the opener, 10-0 and game two, 6-1.
MARIAN 6, EDGEWOOD COLLEGE 1 (GAME TWO)
- The Sabres built a lead in game two by scoring once each in the first five innings of play. The first run came via a solo home run in the bottom of the first inning off the bat of Jake Arens. Arens finished 4-for-5 to pace Marian in game two.
- Edgewood College got its only run of the day in the top of the eight when
Max Orput singled in
Ryan Fields. Both Orput and Fields paced the Eagles with two hits, Fields recording a double.
- Jordan Bock went eight innings and allowed just one run for the Sabres. He struck out eight in his sixth win of the season.
Matthew Turner took the loss for Edgewood College, working 3.2 innings. Will Moss pitched 3.1 innings, giving up just one run, while
Connor Schatzberg threw an inning as well.
MARIAN 10, EDGEWOOD COLLEGE 0 (GAME ONE)
- The Eagles managed just two hits in the opener as the Sabres Ty Peccioli proved difficult to solve. Peccioli allowed just two hits in the complete-game effort with seven strikeouts and no walks.
- Marian broke the game open with a seven-run fourth inning, five of those unearned. The Eagles committed four errors in the contest, including on in the seven-run fourth. Just three of Marian's 10 runs were earned in the opener.

Mason Maziarka and
Branden Cohn also got work in the opening game.

- The Eagles will wrap up the 2019 season Wednesday in a non-conference game against the University of Chicago. It will be Veteran's Appreciation Night at Stampfl Field and the game is set to begin at 6 p.m.
