PLYMOUTH, Wis. – The Edgewood College Men's Basketball visited Lakeland University Friday night for a NACC showdown. The Eagles and Muskies went back-and-forth for much of the game Friday, but Lakeland had the last run, holding on for a 74-71 victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Eagles (2-6, 2-3 NACC) led 30-28 at the break and held a lead for much of the second half as well, including taking a game-high eight-point advantage with 8:25 to play. The eight-point lead came the way of an 8-2 Eagles run with
Matthew Myers scoring five points during the stretch and
Max Fernholz adding a 3-point make.
- The Eagles also led by eight with 7:51 remaining before Lakeland ripped of an 8-0 run to tie the game at 59. The game was deadlocked again at 63 with 3:40 remaining before the Muskies Zach Hasentein buried a 3-point shot to give Lakeland the lead.
- Lakeland held the lead the rest of the way with the Eagles getting within one with 37 seconds left (72-71). After Lakeland hit a pair of free throws with 12 seconds to go, Edgewood College had a shot to tie it, but couldn't convert, as the Muskies held on for the 3-point win.

Ben Seefeld continues to get it done offensively for the Eagles as the junior had a 28-point effort. Seefeld now has five 20-plus point games this season. Seefeld was 12-for-12 from the free throw line and also pulled down eight rebounds.

Jake Graf posted his first career double-double in scoring 11 points and pulling down a career-best 11 rebounds. The Eagles controlled the glass, out-rebounding Lakeland 48-39. Graf added five assists, as did
Avery Lyons. Lyons also finished the game in double figures, scoring 13 points.
THE OPPOSITION
- Jequan Pegeese scored 21 points and grabbed eight rebounds for the Muskies. Hasentein and Carlos Campos each added 15 points.

- The Eagles will play at the Nicolet National Bank Holiday Tournament, hosted by St. Norbert College. The Eagles first game at the two-day event is Sunday, December 29 at 5 p.m. against UW-Stout.
