MADISON, Wis. – The Edgewood College Women's Soccer team struggled to find an offensive spark on Saturday afternoon, falling to Aurora University 1-0 in the pouring rain.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College (2-9-1, 0-4 NACC) held strong through the first half of competition, taking four shots and finding some holes in the Aurora University (3-7-1, 1-2-1 NACC) defense. Despite a solid first half, neither team was able to find the back of the net through 66 minutes of action.
- Emma Aguilar scored the only goal of the contest, finding the back of the net from five yards out.
- The Eagles struggled to put together an offensive drive in the second half, only taking one shot. Five different Eagles took shots in the contest, while Grace Wildeboer continued to impress, making nine saves on the afternoon.
- Alexis Abelove led the Spartans offense with six shots, as the Spartans outshot the Eagles 22-5.
