LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The Edgewood College men's soccer team made their first road trip of the season Wednesday, but will come with a loss. The Eagles fell to Lake Forest College 1-0 at Farwell Field in their third of five straight games against Midwest Conference opponents to open the season.

Lake Forest College (3-0) held the Eagles without a shot in the entire first half, but the Foresters only manage to put one of six shots on target in the first 43 minutes of the game. However, just before halftime Lake Forest's Nicholas Kliminski scored an unassisted goal with 1:42 remaining.

That would turn out to be the only score the Foresters would need to claim the win. Edgewood College (1-1-1) would manage just two shots in the second half, one by Matt Pampuch and one by Sam Quinones, and neither were on net. Eagle goalkeeper Kyle Koenig made three second half saves to keep Lake Forest off the board, but the offense could not generate an equalizer.

The Eagles will continue their road swing with a pair of games this weekend. Edgewood College will face Ripon College on Saturday afternoon, before heading north to play St. Norbert College on Sunday.
