The Eagles put pressure on the Muskies early in the first half as Andrew Aurit had a shot blocked just 58 seconds into the contest. Edgewood College then had a corner kick in the second minute before Pampuch ripped a shot that was saved by Alex Piekarski in the third minute.

After Lakeland's first shot sailed high in the 10th minute, Alexander Ribeiro had his shot blocked later in the 10th minute. The Muskies (3-2-3, 1-0-2 NAC) tallied their first shot in the 12th minute, but it was turned away by Kyle Koenig.

Lakeland recorded a couple quick scoring chances to start the second half.  Jeremy Hardy put two shots on net in the first six minutes of the frame, but they both were turned away by Koenig. The Muskies had one more chance to score the go-ahead goal in the game's final minute. Paul Elzinga ripped a shot that was saved by Koenig to send the game to overtime.
