MADISON, Wis. – The goals came in one quick flurry for the Aurora University men's soccer team, but one flurry was all they needed to defeat Edgewood College on Saturday at Vago Field. The Spartans scored three times in just over seven minutes late in the first half to claim a 3-1 victory over the Eagles.
Aurora University (3-4-1, 2-0 NAC) fired off the first seven shots of the game, but starting Edgewood College goalkeeper

Colby Newquist scored off a corner kick, followed four minutes later by a Xavier Carrillo goal. In the 37th minute, the Spartans struck again off a corner kick to build a 3-0 lead.
Edgewood College (3-4-2, 1-2 NAC) finally scored in the 63rd minute on a shot from
Sam Quinones. The goal was the second on the year for Quinones and gave him three points on the week when paired with his assist on Wednesday against Wisconsin Lutheran College.
Backup goalkeeper
Robert Huss provided a highlight in the 72nd minute when he saved a penalty kick taken by Aurora's Victor Ramirez. For the match, Huss finished with three saves and Koenig two saves.
Lakeland College is the next opponent on Edgewood College's schedule. The Eagles will travel north on Tuesday for an afternoon match with the Muskies.
