Edgewood College (1-5, 0-2 NAC) came out and attacked Benedictine (4-2-1, 1-0-1 NAC) early. In the first five minutes, Edgewood College took two corner kicks and Paul Domann had a shot blocked. The pressure finally paid off in for the Eagles in the ninth minute when Nate Hedrington netted his team leading fourth goal of the season, unassisted.

Only four minutes in, the Eagles' Jesse Ortiz gave Benedictine the lead. He took a cross form Alberto Mendez and bounced it off the post before it went into the net for the game winner.
