RIVER FOREST, Ill. - Junior Greg Dezell recorded his first career hat trick and freshman Paul Domann scored his first collegiate goal as the Edgewood College men's soccer team improved to 3-0 in the Northern Athletics Conference with 4-0 shutout of Concordia University Chicago. The Eagles have blanked their opponent in three of their last four matches.
Dezell, a native of Oconomowoc, tallied three times in a 14-minute span during the first half to put the Eagles into cruise control early. Senior Tyler Duellman assisted Dezell on his first goal in the 19th minute of play. Concordia Chicago barely had time to regroup before Dezell had found the net again, this time assisted by Andriy Apetrey at the 21:17 mark. He finished his trifecta with an unassisted goal in the 33rd minute.
For Dezell, it was the second multi-goal game of his career and brought his season total to a team-high six goals. His six goals matches his season total from a year ago and gives him 14 tallies in his career.
